GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESOperate all production machines and feed equipment, including transfers, according to Specifications, Machine Operating Instructions, and the Part Control Plan.
Fill out Hour-by-Hour Charts with shift information and problem identification information.
SPECIFIC DUTIES Prepare presses and work sites for set up.
Follow set up instructions when setting up presses.
Set up presses within all press categories, including preparing and adjusting straighteners; preparing, loading and adjusting feeders; aligning stock; assisting with transfer system set-up (adjusting finger positions when applicable, installing and homing rails, and setting pitch;) and preparing next set up (clean slugs and bolsters, and obtain fixtures).
Operate the automatic presses, following general operator instructions and the control plans, including reading, understanding and completing all production paperwork, and reading, following and completing tags.
Monitor and maintain press fluid levels, changing lubricant and adjusting concentration of lubricant during both set-up and troubleshooting, and properly disposing of waste oil.
Troubleshoot presses (using Smart Pac, sensors and controls) to ensure both quality and maximum levels of production.
Verify the proper raw material stock against router and check sheets.
Load, remove, start, end and band steel coils.
Utilize Plex to obtain information pertinent to job tasks and to order materials as necessary.
Conducts first piece and parts-in-process inspections, according to the inspection sheets.
Use calipers, micrometers, attribute gates, variable gages, and taper gages to ensure quality.
Documenting frequency based quality checks.
Cleans machine, work area, during and after production.
Participates in continuous improvement MTPS activities.
Actively uses checking fixtures in the proper manner.
Participates in overall machine effectiveness efforts and waste reduction.
Works in the most efficient manner to meet and exceed all established corporate goals.
Assists in analyzing and resolving work problems.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Consistently adhere to, and support, policies and procedures, including ISO, and safety regulations; assist in investigating and documenting potential infractions.
Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the hours necessary to perform the job.
Organize and maintain efficiency of personal work area.
Give and accept instructions and duties in a positive manner, treating all co-workers with dignity and respect.
Assist in maintaining MTD values (Family, Inventive Spirit, Appreciation, Give Back, Communication) daily, through thoughts and actions.
Performs related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCEMinimum of twelve (12) months of press operating experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust have the ability to lift 50 pounds periodically and 30 pounds regularly.
Must have the ability to stand for entire shift.
ERRORSErrors could result in high monetary losses if machine is damaged, and adversely affect the Company's relationship with Customers.
COMPLEXITY OF DUTIESDuties are of a routine nature with loading and unloading of fixtures with some robot programming and maintenance.
CONTACT WITH OTHERSMust be able to communicate and interface well with Weld Leaders on a routine basis and be conscious of the effects responsibilities have on other departments.
MENTAL OR VISUAL DEMANDMental and visual demand are not normally of a burdening nature, however some heavy concentration may be required when programming.
WORKING CONDITIONSExposed to regular plant conditions with dirt, oil, and smoke.
Would not be considered always desirable conditions.
SUPERVISION RECEIVEDUnder direct supervision the Production Supervisor Press Room.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
